This is one of the first paintings I made after I healed from PTSD, a disorder creating stress so deep there's not room for anything else. It deprived me of my feelings, making me numb. As I processed the trauma, I slowly began to feel again. Joy, sadness, anger, grief, disappointment, happiness, love, curiosity... The list goes on. The world changed from dull and dangerous to vibrant and peaceful. This artwork reflects the magical feeling of finally letting go of the past and entering the present.
