Did you know that your heart is the central motivating factor of your life? According to God's Word, as explained by A. R. Bernard, the heart - the house of the human spirit - is much more than a physical organ. It is the vital center and source of our deepest emotions and sensibilities - a repository where every human experience, everything we see and hear, is collected and stored. You'll discover that the heart… - Has the ability to receive and process information - Plays a significant role in human emotions - Works with our eyes and ears, interpreting what we see and hear. - Shapes our personality. - Is revealed by the words we speak - Is vulnerable to outside influences It is from deep within the heart that we find the motivation for everything we choose to do in life. The heart expresses its content in human behavior. Matthew 6:21 indicates that our actions signify not only where our treasure is but also our heart. What we see with our eyes is colored by the condition of our heart. That's why Proverbs 4: 23 says, "Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." This anointed teaching includes the example of how two thieves - on one each side of Jesus at the Crucifixion - saw the same Jesus… yet had totally opposite behavior because of the condition of their hearts. What about your heart… and your treasure?
