Every summer I start working on a few more pairs of socks to replace those that were worn out beyond repair during the previous winter. My most worn socks are always the thicker ones, they are so much warmer and stand much better to heavy wear, and this is how the design for Hearth socks was born. The majority of the socks (leg and foot) are worked using a slipped stitch pattern that creates fun texture and uses only one colour per round. The heels and toes are worked in 1x1 stranded colourwork that also adds extra thickness and durability to these areas prone to heavy wear.
