I tried and failed to get it straight alone. You need someone to stand from afar and look to see if it's straight (it should be completely flush against the ceiling and floor if it is as well). Beyond that, you've either not screwed it together properly (make sure all seams between pieces are flush). If it's on carpet, make sure the surface under your carpet is flat. If it's on solid non-carpeted floor, make sure that floor is completely flat with a level. If all of those prove to not be the problem, your pole may be faulty. Q4: My ceiling 9.9 could I buy a 500 extension from you also? A4: I'm sorry that we don't sell the 500 extension. Q5: Will this be okay for a 7 ft ceiling?
