This fabric forms a fully windproof sandwich around the insulation (inedible though), trapping vital body heat when you stop moving or the wind picks up. We've used PrimaLoft® Silver Eco, a 100% recycled insulation, for its excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. This highly compressible fill allows the Heiko to pack away into its own chest pocket (complete with hang loop for clipping to climbing harnesses). PrimaLoft® is water resistant too, repelling water and keeping its insulating ability even when wet. Combined with the fast-drying fabric (treated with a PFAS-free DWR), this makes the Heiko ideal for changeable conditions — every other day in the British Isles, then! Not just a versatile outer jacket, the Heiko can also double up as a super warm midlayer in colder temperatures. Its hoodless design and low-profile 60gsm insulation fit neatly under outer shells.
