According to European regulators, Heliotropin (Piperonal) is going to receive a new classification of "toxic to reproduction (Repr. 1B; H360FD)." The result of this change is that the European government may ban European perfumers and those selling in to Europe from using Heliotropin in their fragrances in any quantity. At this stage IFRA agrees with the reclassification but, as with Lyral, does not intend to prohibit or restrict heliotropin. Because of this, we have created Heliotropin Repl X24, a marvellous base that stands in as a one for one replacer for heliotropin, offering all the same benefits of that material without the regulatory barriers. Start to use it now in your fragrances and you won't even blink an eye if the potential prohibition comes into action. Heliotropin Repl X24 is beautiful in its own right and offers a lovely powdery note that can be used to supplement vanilla or tonka bean notes, or as a support for modern violet and iris scents. Note: This product contains NO heliotropin (piperonal), Anisic Aldehyde or Benzaldehyde.
