First designed by Massimo Vignelli for Alan Heller in the mid-1960s, the novel stacking Max dinnerware was subject to immediate success, with acceptance into the Museum of Modern Art's permanent collection shortly thereafter. Over the years the pattern has had a number of additions, as well as color and design changes. The current selection includes a bowl, dinner plate, salad plate, and mug.
