It is quite rare to find Hematite in their natural raw crystal form. Their lustre is such of polished stones, but they are completely natural, raw - untouched crystals. Hematite vibrates to the number 9 and is the astrological Signs of Aries and Aquarius. When iron is exposed to oxygen, either through the atmosphere or contact with water, it will oxidize, giving birth to Hematite. Transforming the nature of one of the hardest metals on the earth, Hematite is endowed through the very process of its creation with the powers of metamorphosis. It carries the strength of iron and the ethereal essence of oxygen. Hematite’s red essence is revealed by streak test and through the bright red powder that is left behind when it is cut or polished. It was used to make mirrors in ancient times. This reflective attribute enables Hematite to cast back negative impressions that have external origins while, at the same time, providing inner strength. It can help us to see what is ours and what is not, where we need to personally grow and make changes and what is being imposed from other's expectations and demands.
