We are lifelong bibliophiles. Shelves filled with books line our studio walls and more are stacked on every surface. We admire their design, scrutinize their typography, fetishize their paper and analyze their binding. We read them for research, for inspiration, for the sheer pleasure of exploring new worlds of thought and experience. Naturally, we were delighted to find these stunning sculptural bookends, reminiscent of Brancusi. Hand-cast in pigmented gypsum cement in Oakland, California. Each piece is unique due to the casting process, making them a charming limited edition of one. UMÉ Studio, led by California-based designers Victor Lefebvre and Mei-Lan Tan, is known for their innovative and detail-oriented approach.
