Plant Walk: Food as Medicine with Marc Williams August 8th 10am - 1pm (followed by FREE POTLUCK) Join Marc for a slow and gentle walk in our garden & woodland trail. Food as medicine is a concept that is rooted in the healing systems of ancient cultures around the world. It is well known that various compounds such as antioxidants and some bitters are helpful in promoting overall health and well-being. Classes of plants, such as adaptogens, make up a large part of the current superfood trends in our society. We will start our time together with a Powerpoint to ground the fundamentals of a healing diet. Then while walking the grounds of the Red Moon Herbs we will together experience an overview of plants that are prime examples of how food can be medicine, as well as some fascinating stories of how these life forms and humans have interacted over time. We will finish with a lunchtime potluck featuring a multitude of delicious and nutritious items on offer for folks of all dietary preferences.
