An Ayurvedic tisane is an herbal infusion crafted according to Ayurvedic principles to balance the body's doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) and promote overall health. These tisanes are made from a blend of herbs, spices, and plants, each selected for their specific healing properties and ability to support digestion, immunity, and balance within the body. Hand-blended in-house, Laroot’s organic herbal tisane soothes with notes of mint, eucalyptus, and blackberry, the last of which lends the tea a distinct purple hue. The addition of sumac, an astringent ground berry cultivated in the Levant, boasts antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties, as well as a hint of tangy piquancy. To brew: Measure about 1–2 teaspoons of dried herbs or a small handful of fresh herbs per cup. Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil. Pour the hot water over the herbs and cover. Let it steep for 5–10 minutes to extract their medicinal properties. Remove the herbs by straining the infusion into a cup. You can add a touch of honey or lemon if desired but keep it mild to maintain the herbal benefits.
