Public transport is strongly advised) Experience an evening of music and remembrance, presented in collaboration with Changi Chapel and Museum and the students from the Australian International School. Drawing from the Changi Souvenir Song Album, a featured artefact in the museum's collection, the performance showcases songs composed by internees Ray Tullipan and Slim de Grey to sustain morale for themselves and their fellow internees during their time in the camp. Following the performance, join Assoc. Prof. Hamzah Muzaini from NUS's Department of Southeast Asian Studies as he reflects on what liberation asks us to remember and explores the role museums and memorials play in shaping collective memory. Through music and shared reflections, the evening invites audiences to contemplate themes of resilience, remembrance, and shared heritage, while reflecting on the meaning of liberation its significance.
