A hand stitched bridal leather and brass desk notepad. This stunning desk accessory was made by the luxury French retailer, Hermès, and designed by one of their most important desi gners; Paul Dupré-Lafon. M. Dupré-Lafon was a renowned French architect and decorator known for his creations in the Art Deco style. He employed an eclectic mixture of traditional craft and industrial style and often used materials, as can be seen here in this note pad. The hinge is exquisitely executed using the brass and leather elements intertwining. The entire pad is made from stacked and hand stitched bridal leather that has all of the edges hand sanded and stained to create this masculine weighted appearance. The pad is gold foil embossed with 'Hermès, France'. It is in excellent original condition, dating circa 1940's. Show more
