Inspired by the Broadway musical Jesus Christ Superstar - with even a cover of a song from the show - this LP showcases Ayers' spiritual and social beliefs. In addition to Ayers' core Ubiquity band, the album features legendary sidemen saxophonist Sonny Fortune, bassist Ron Carter and drummer Billy Cobham.? Smif-N-Wessun paid homage to the cover on their album Dah Shinin' and sampled "We Live in Brooklyn Baby" on "Home Sweet Home."
