While th e adjacent waters of Shellharbour Harbour were being deepened for 19th-century cedar and dairy trade, this secluded alcove remained largely untouched, guarded by extensive rock platforms. Long known to the traditional Aboriginal custodians who utilized Bass Point for over 17,000 years, The Middy now serves as a haven for marine life and coastal purists.
