Hideaway (1995) was a supernatural thriller based on the Dean Koontz novel. Jeff Goldblum starred as a man who is clinically dead for two hours after a car accident, and when he's resuscitated, he discovers he's developed a psychic link with a serial killer who died at the same time. The film was directed by Brett Leonard (The Lawnmower Man) and featured early CGI effects to visualize the psychic connection between Goldblum and the killer. Mid-'90s horror-thrillers based on bestselling novels were a significant subgenre. Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and John Grisham adaptations filled video store shelves. Jeff Goldblum brought his signature eccentric intensity to the role, making even the most outlandish premise feel grounded. VHS horror deep cuts are collector favorites. He didn't come back alone.
