Anders Krisár's High Diver (2), 2023-24, is a personal portrait of his father in his youth, reflecting a pivotal moment in his life. Growing up in a turbulent and traumatic environ ment, Krisár's father found solace in high diving, eventually becoming one of Hungary's top divers. This work is part of a larger investigation into his father’s life before he was affected by schizophrenia, a condition that has defined much of their relationship. Through the image of diving, Krisár explores a metaphorical leap - his father’s departure from shared reality into his own as he gradually retreated from the world around him. Show more
