High Voltage eMoto Fuse Kit & Replacement Fuses Protect your battery, controller, and high-current electrical system with a proper 120VDC-rated fuse setup built for high-power eMoto builds. Use the chart below to match the fuse to your controller peak-output range. The 250A option covers most common setups, while 300A and 450A options are for higher-output builds. Why 120VDC? These are 120VDC-rated fuses. That does not mean they are only for 120V batteries. It means the fuse is rated for DC battery systems up to 120V. Most eMoto batteries are listed by nominal voltage, like 60V, 72V, 81V, 96V, or other common eMoto battery ratings. The battery voltage is higher when the pack is fully charged, so the fuse voltage rating needs to be higher than the battery's highest charged voltage. For most eMoto builds, a 120VDC fuse covers the correct voltage range, including lower-voltage setups and 96V nominal systems. Do not use basic 32V automotive fuses on high-voltage eMoto battery systems. Which Fuse Should I Choose? Controller Warranty Note Some controller manufacturers, including EBMX, require a fuse to be installed for warranty coverage. If your controller manufacturer requires a fuse, do not skip it. Always disconnect the battery before working on the electrical system. If you are not comfortable working around high-voltage battery wiring, have the fuse installed by a qualified shop.
