A quietly atmospheric of a winding road leading through rolling ground beneath a broad sky, painted in soft greens, slate blues and silvery greys. Its modest scale makes it particu larly easy to place, whether hung alone in a smaller space or as part of a larger collection wall. The deep frame gives the painting an unexpected presence and beautifully draws the eye into the landscape. A thoughtful, understated piece with the calm character often found in Scandinavian painting. Oil on canvas by artist Johan Hilding Hägleby (Sweden, 1900–1981) and signed lower right and dated 1961.
