Cal Tjader recorded for Verve in the '60s, an unusual session. Instead of a Latin group, he plays arrangements of Golson and Bryant, accompanied by Royal, Stamm, Johnson, Richardso n, Lewis, Carter/Davis on bass, & three pianists: Hancock, Bown, & Bunch. Solo focus mainly on Tjader, occasional spotlights on Richardson & Hancock. Standouts include "Blues March," "Django," & Tjader's "Hip Vibrations."
