Sashiko, or “little stabs,” is a traditional Japanese technique of functional embroidery that can reinforce the fabric to make it stronger and more hardwearing. This is a soft, loo seweave cotton, decorated with a Hitomezashi sashiko style stitch in a cross pattern. The base is broad stripes of shades of real indigo.
