The Hogy Mini Squid Biki Rig is the coverage half of the Hogy Squid System. When squid are schooled up and feeding, scattered across a shoal, or stacked at different depths in the column, the Biki Rig puts three keel-weighted mini squid jigs and four subtle teaser strands into the water on a single drop. It’s the rig that maximizes squid count when the bite is on — and the rig that locates the school when they’re hard to find. The Squid Biki Rig offers volume coverage when squid are active, aggressive, or need to be located. Together, they cover every squid fishing condition from pier to boat, spring run to fall migration. In the groundfish system, the Squid Biki Rig doubles as a seasonal bait-making tool. Fresh squid is premium bait for stripers, tuna, and fluke. The spring and fall squid runs on Cape Cod provide some of the best squid fishing in the Northeast, and the Biki Rig is the fastest way to fill a bucket. Features: Three Keel-Weighted Mini Squid Jigs - Each jig is keel-weighted to maintain a natural horizontal fall — the posture squid expect from live prey. The flash body paint and glow-infused plastic create high visibility in both daylight and low-light conditions. Three jigs per rig means three hookup opportunities per drop. Four Olive Teaser Strands - Fine teaser fibers flutter with minimal movement, adding subtle visual attraction between the jigs. The olive tone matches the natural forage profile. Teasers draw squid in from a distance before they encounter the jigs, extending the rig’s effective range. GLOW-Infused Plastic and Pigments - Squid are visual predators, especially in low-light conditions. The glow-infused plastic charges with ambient light and emits a subtle luminescence that’s visible from a distance. This is critical during dawn, dusk, and nighttime squid runs when the bite is hottest. Keel-Weighted Horizontal Fall - The keel weight design ensures each jig maintains a natural horizontal posture on the drop. Squid attack prey that moves naturally — a horizontal fall mimics a drifting shrimp or small baitfish, triggering the grab-and-hold response that pins the squid on the stainless hooks. Flash Body Paint - Unique flash body paint on each jig encourages squid to grab and hold rather than just tentacle-tap. The finish provides a natural feel to the jig body on contact, reducing the squid’s tendency to release before the hooks engage. Pre-Tied and Ready to Fish - Saves rigging time when fishing pre-tide, in cold conditions, or when the bite turns on suddenly. Clip to your mainline and drop — no assembly required. Critical when the window for squid is short and every minute counts. Sticky-Sharp Stainless Squid Hooks - Pin-style squid hooks grip and hold quickly on contact. Stainless construction resists corrosion through extended saltwater use. The hook geometry is designed for squid — not fish — engaging the mantle and tentacles where squid make contact.
