Melbourne Warehouse Stock ready to ship! ✔ Full dual-mono discrete R2R architecture✔ Dedicated DAC module and transformer per channel✔ One of the best measuring NOS R2R DACs ever made The HoloAudio May DAC is not simply HoloAudio’s flagship — it is one of the finest digital-to-analogue converters available anywhere in the world. Designed by Jeff Zhu as the ultimate expression of HoloAudio’s discrete R2R technology, the May has become a true reference point for audiophiles seeking the closest possible digital approximation to live analogue realism. Using a fully bespoke dual mono R2R architecture with completely independent DAC modules and dedicated O-Type transformers for each channel, the May achieves extraordinary levels of transparency, dynamics, realism, and musical immersion that few DACs regardless of price can rival. Why the May DAC Stands Above the Rest True full dual-mono discrete R2R architecture Dedicated custom DAC module per channel Dedicated 100VA flatwire O-Type transformer per channel Industry-leading NOS performance and measurements Advanced de-glitch and linear compensation technology Ultra-low jitter PLL + FIFO architecture One of the most natural sounding DACs ever built Sound Signature Bass Bass is exceptionally deep, textured, and authoritative with effortless control. It presents low frequencies with realism and scale rather than artificial emphasis. Midrange This is where the May becomes truly world-class. Vocals are breathtakingly lifelike, dense, emotionally powerful, and startlingly realistic in their presence. Treble Treble is refined, open, and incredibly extended while remaining smooth and completely fatigue-free. Resolution is immense but never forced. Technical Performance The May delivers one of the largest, deepest, and most holographic soundstages available in digital audio today. Layering, spatial separation, and image density are genuinely reference-level. Compared Against Other Flagship DACs vs Denafrips Terminator PlusThe Terminator Plus is a highly regarded reference R2R DAC, however the Holo May delivers a significantly larger and more holographic stage, superior transparency, more natural vocals, stronger timbre realism, and a more polished effortless presentation overall. vs Chord Dave + MScalerThe Dave + MScaler is highly technical and extremely resolving, but the May sounds considerably more natural, emotionally engaging, and realistic. Vocals carry greater body and intimacy, while staging feels larger, deeper, and more organic. Many listeners find the May substantially less fatiguing over long sessions. vs Weiss DAC502The Weiss DAC502 is exceptionally clean and refined, but the May outperforms it with stronger tonal density, greater timbre realism, larger stage dimensions, superior microdynamic expression, and a far more immersive analogue-like presentation. Against many other flagship DACs regardless of architecture or price, the May consistently distinguishes itself through its extraordinary naturalness, realism, and ability to disappear entirely into the music. Available Versions Level 1Outstanding base model with copper internal wiring and standard DAC modules. Level 2Adds enhanced USB implementation, upgraded capacitors, and remote control for improved refinement and usability. Level 3 KTE (Kitsune Tuned Edition)The ultimate May.
