Each Holztiger animal is hand carved from maple wood, which has a beautiful smooth grain. The figure is hand painted with non-toxic, water-based paints in rich, vibrant colors know n to awaken a child's desire for exploration and discovery. The rich colors are complemented by the gentle, friendly faces painted on each animal. Because the water-based paints are semi-transparent, the grain of the wood is still visible after painting, allowing the figure to retain the warmth and character of the wood.
