The translucent honey-coloured ball contains two cute little plastic bees that you can see, feel and gently palpate through the outer skin, adding another layer of tactile input beyond the squish itself. The maltose filling responds to temperature. It starts firmer when cold and gradually softens as it warms in your hands, so the resistance and feel can change as you use it. Repeatedly forcing a bee hard against the outer skin, standing on the ball, overstretching it or applying excessive pressure may eventually puncture or damage the outer membrane.
