His prime was in an early era, the beginning of the 1900s, but the Pirates star is still important today. A large reason for that is his T206 baseball card; early cards came with tobacco products, and, as Wagner was against tobacco use, not many were made. One of these cards is particularly famous. Because of its great condition, the card reached multi-million-dollar value, and was at one point owned by Wayne Gretzky. It then turned out that it had been "trimmed" on each side, making the card seem in much better shape then it was. While this should have decreased the value, it only made this card's legend grow, and it still wears a pretty price tag today.
