This small hooting owl blower is a hand-carved wooden sound instrument designed to produce a distinctive "twit-twoo" owl call when blown. Compact and lightweight, it fits comfortably in the hand and works well as a novelty sound toy, small musical instrument, or decorative piece when not in use. Made from Rain Tree wood, these owl blowers are crafted in a village around an hour outside Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. The production is shared across the community, with different households responsible for each stage — from rough sawing and shaping to detailed carving and final sanding — supporting a traditional, cooperative way of working. After carving, the owls are taken to Chiang Mai to be painted and finished. Ethically sourced and handmade throughout, each small owl blower shows slight variations in shape and finish, reflecting the many hands involved in its creation and making every piece unique.
