Jiayue Li In the ‘Illustrations’ series, Jiayue Li delves into the multifaceted experience of womanhood, exploring themes of community, emotion and identity through the many faces women wear in society. Working with coloured pencils on textured paper, Li’s dreamlike, surreal pieces contain a certain elusiveness and tactility that draws the viewer in, encouraging conversations around these diverse experiences and emotions. In her latest piece titled ‘Horizon’; clouds appear to burst from a woman’s body.
