Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) is a hardy, fast-growing floating or rooted stem plant that thrives in a wide range of freshwater conditions. Its feathery, dark green leaves create a bushy appearance, offering excellent cover for fish and fry while helping to reduce algae by absorbing excess nutrients. Hornwort does not require substrate and can be left free-floating or anchored with weights. It grows quickly under moderate to high light but adapts well to low-tech setups without CO₂.
