[M] Hosta is the Friendship Plant, as German hybridizer Christina Brinkmann demonstrated by naming this seedling of 'Concord' to honor the friends who help administrate her Faceboo k group. 'Chris' Admin' emerges in the spring with fresh green leaves that can brighten to chartreuse by mid-summer with good light. Leaves are quite smooth, with softly rippled margins. The most striking feature of this friendship plant is the deep purple - nearly black - petioles and scapes. The contrast against the light colored foliage is very dramatic!
