Many hostas are renowned for their margin colouration and 'Frances Williams' is no exception. The large, heart-shaped leaves are a lovely green hue with wavy patches of yellow skirting the outsides. Alongside the fabulous foliage, this hosta also produces attractive, lilac-coloured flower racemes in the summer months. A perfect choice for shadier gardens, the crinkled leaves of 'Frances Williams' provide highly-effective groundcover and aid in the suppression of weeds. Hostas make fine additions to woodland-style planting schemes, and also work wonderfully in Japanese gardens (the Japanese term for hosta being gib?shi). Low-maintenance and easy to care for, you can grow this hosta in beds, borders and containers (just make sure pot-grown hostas are regularly watered as the compost will dry out quicker).
