The Hosta 'Party Streamers' is one of the most distinctive of the newer hostas, bred by Hans Hansen for Walters Gardens. Its party trick is the foliage: long, narrow, wiggly leaves that emerge butter-yellow in spring and green up through the season, each one randomly brushed with streaks of creamy yellow and chartreuse. The streaking is unstable in the best possible way, so no two leaves, or two plants, are ever quite the same.It forms a low, spreading mound topped in mid to late summer by tall scapes of deep purple flowers held well clear of the leaves.
