Thanks to plantsman Roy Klehm for sharing this hosta that he picked up on a visit to Japan. The fast-growing, show-stopping Hosta 'Fortunei'-type plant makes a nice 3' wide clump o f medium-green leaves, highlighted by a large white center. In late summer, Hosta 'Silver Lode' becomes viridescent (the center pattern turns light green). The vigorous clumps are topped with 30" scapes of light lavender flowers in midsummer. Show more
