[S-M] An older, not often seen sport of 'Whirlwind'. 'Whirligig' has many of the same features as its parent, but overall the plant is a bit smaller, with longer petioles that crea te a less congested clump. Gently cupped leaves emerge in the spring with creamy-white center surrounded by dark green margins. The leaf centers gradually darken, until the foliage is two toned green. The green margins are narrower and the leaves less twisted than those of 'Whirlwind'. Hosta 'Whirligig' quickly grows into a 16" tall by 30" wide semi-upright mound that blooms in mid summer with lavender flowers. (Walden West - 2009) Show more
