Heating Element for Hot Air Welders This 120-volt, 550-watt hot air heating element is designed for use with Polyvance's 6000 series, 8000 series, and 8200 series nitrogen plastic welders. This element is NOT compatible with the 8300 series Nitro-Fuzer Touch. How to Test the Element: To test your element, you will need a multi-meter. Ohms setting: Set your multi-meter to the Ohms setting. Touch the brass ends of the element with the leads of the multi-meter. You will get a reading of 26.2 ohms (± 1 ohm) if the element is GOOD. You will get a reading of 0 if the element is BAD. Continuity setting: Set your multi-meter to the "Continuity" setting. Touch the metal ends of the element with the leads of the multi-meter. You will get a reading of 0 if the element is GOOD. Some multi-meters beep when there is continuity. If your multi-meter beeps, then the element is GOOD. You will get a reading of 1 if the element is BAD. Some multi-meters beep when there is continuity. If your multi-meter does NOT beep, then the element is BAD.
