This month's Skein Society colorway is based on an illustration we commissioned from Lyra Purugganan, a Columbus-based artist (who also crochets)! Lyra is a multi-disciplinary artist with a focus on printmaking! They utilize traditional printmaking techniques such as stone lithography, relief, intaglio, and silkscreen to explore cultural identity. Lyra also uses folk imagery and fiber art to help inform the struggles of Filipino immigrants, and combines activism and art, utilizing printmaking as a means to crowdfund and uplift POC voices.
