Little did she know, this journey would spark the creation of a blend that pays homage to the region's rich culinary traditions. Immersed in Cajun and Creole recipes like jambalaya and gumbo, Amy aimed to capture the warmth and vibrancy of southern flavors without the regrettable heat some “hot” flavors provide. The name HOT SALT came from a chat with a friend from Louisiana, who playfully insisted on its straightforwardness. She insisted we couldn’t call it anything else because we weren’t Cajun, Creole, or from Louisania and might be run out of town otherwise. However, Linn aka Mr. Salty, a land surveyor by trade, added his own touch by suggesting the addition of '30° NORTH,' marking Louisiana's latitude. This name seamlessly bridges the connection to the region without laying claim to its heritage. HOT SALT had found its identity - a tribute to the south's zest for life.
