HOT SHOT is a raw, energetic techno EP created entirely from live performances on my Roland TR-8S. Every track was born live: the TR-8S was connected in multitrack to Ableton, allowing me to capture the groove in real time, then refine, adapt and mix it properly afterward—without losing the spontaneity and human feel of the original performance. This workflow gave me the best of both worlds: live energy and studio precision. Musically, HOT SHOT represents the techno I deeply love.Fast, groovy, direct, and efficient. You’ll hear strong 90s influences, with touches of Trance, Hard Progressive, and classic rave energy. Big kicks, driving rhythms, and a constant sense of movement. No unnecessary layers—just what’s needed to make the floor move. Because everything was performed live, the EP naturally carries a minimal approach. Two hands, one machine. No over-designed drops, no excessive melodies—just the essence of techno. Straight to the point. Effective music. I also chose to include my own vocals, recorded simply with my phone and the Digitakt, then integrated later in Ableton. For me, vocals are powerful—especially coming from the 90s mindset. A good vocal can elevate a track instantly, give it character, attitude, and soul. HOT SHOT is about energy, instinct, and authenticity.Less tools, more intention.More groove, less distraction.
