The historic Hotel de l'Univers in Tours, France dates back to 1846 and has hosted prominent figures such as Serge Gainsbourg, Sarah Bernhardt, Katherine Hepburn, and Edith Piaf. Their portraits adorn the remarkable gallery that overlooks the foyer. Now known as Hôtel Océana l'Univers, this hotel still operates today. These solid brass key fobs—with their distinctive star shape that was traditional for French hotels during the 1920s—would have been attached to the hotel room key.
