As the bean temperature rises, the colour begins to change, reaching a brown tone right around the time of first crack. This provides an easy way to monitor the process and ensure that your coffee beans are roasted to perfection. 3. Now, you can see the environmental temperature as well! With our newly designed K thermocouples, we have placed the bean thermocouple in the bean mass for greater accuracy and more consistent results. 4. The temperature of the bean is now used to set the target temperature (maximum temperature that can be set by the user) and is displayed separately. 5. There are now four knobs to adjust settings. Rotate clockwise to increase a setting, and counter-clockwise to lower. These knobs are speed sensitive and have infinite rotation. There are no more buttons to push or parameters to select before adjusting! The time and temp (the two top knobs) set the maximum targets for the roast, while the Heat and Fan knobs (bottom two) are dedicated to those functions. Temp can be adjusted in 1% increments and fan speed in 10% increments. All settings are available at any time throughout the roast. 6. As of 5/15/15, the KN-8828B-2K+ is available with a USB port located on the side of the control panel! 7. The speed of the fan and the power of the heating element are both displayed constantly. This coffee roaster is designed with your convenience in mind. The eject button has been moved away from other features to help avoid accidental ejection.
