Composer's Note: In Chiaroscuro, there is a backdrop of long notes played in the woodwinds and brasses that goes throughout the entire piece, providing the harmonic framework for t he piece. Against this, melodies are played in the strings and sometimes in the woodwinds that come out from this background. "Chiaroscuro," meaning "light-dark," the long tones are the dark and the melodies are the light. The piece was composed in the April, 2024. Show more
