Hoya kerrii, commonly known as the Sweetheart Plant or Valentine Hoya, is loved for its thick, heart-shaped green leaves. Unlike the single rooted leaves often sold as novelty plants, this is a genuine vining specimen that will continue to grow, climb and produce new foliage over time. Native to Southeast Asia, Hoya kerrii has succulent-like leaves that store water, making it relatively drought tolerant and easy to care for. As it matures, it develops long stems lined with distinctive green hearts and may eventually produce clusters of star-shaped flowers. Light & Position Prefers bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning or evening sun can help encourage strong growth, but avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight. Watering Allow the compost to dry partially between waterings, then water thoroughly and allow any excess to drain away. Water more sparingly during winter. Care Feed every few weeks during spring and summer with a diluted houseplant fertiliser. Allow the stems to trail naturally or provide a support for the plant to climb as it grows.
