Unlike other plants in the genus, H. linearis is not much of a climber. Rather, it takes root in the crevices of trees and hangs gracefully from their branches. The leaves are small, thin and covered in a light fuzz. White, star-shaped flowers appear in clusters and smell delightfully of lemon. It has a reputation for being one of the hardest hoyas to grow.
