About Born in Tokyo in 1940, after graduating from Tokyo College of Photography, became an exclusive cameraman for the theater laboratory "Tenjo Sajiki" presided over by Shuji Terayama, and began his activities as a freelancer. Taking pictures while traveling all over Japan, he won the Photographic Society of Japan New Artist Award for his masterpiece "Kazegata Kaden", which captures the people living in everyday life and the extraordinary "otherworld" moments behind them. Since the 1980s, he has expanded his activities to overseas such as Hong Kong and Taiwan, and has held numerous exhibitions.
