The HVX represents a versatile medium-output humbucker pickup. Picture a hotter PAF, with enhanced top-end, slightly nasal mids and a tight bottom end. Essentially, an over-wound HV58 (like the HV58 PLUS) but with a Ceramic magnet, giving it a distinct tonal quality. The HVX performs well with coil-splitting and parallel wiring. It also excels when wired out of phase with another HVX guitar pickup. The 4-conductor wiring facilitates easy coil-splitting or series/parallel switching.
