One of the most popular hydrangeas, and unsurprisingly so, 'Annabelle' stuns with its voluminous snowy blooms, which can measure up to 25cm across and present themselves in a lovel y domed shape. This variety makes for a stunning flowering hedge, but can just as easily be treated as a standalone shrub in its own dedicated bed, such is its visual impact. Flowering atop a bed of rich green foliage, the blooms emerge in summer and make for excellent cut flowers in bouquets and decorative arrangements. Don't let the ostentatious appearance of the plant fool you, because it's still remarkably tough (H6 hardiness) and resilient to a range of conditions, including salty coastal air.
