Manutec Hydrangea Blueing Fertiliser is a specific fertiliser developed to maintain safe nutrient level and optimum pH values that are suitable for producing blue hydrangeas. As soil pH determines sepal colour in hydrangeas, it is most important that pH of the soil or potting media is determined and adjusted prior to growing period. Any pH between 5.5 and 6.0 is acceptable during plant growth, but when forcing begins the pH for a crop of blue sepals must be 5.5 or lower. pH can be lowered by adding sulphur to the media and maintained by the regular use of this solution. Directions For Use By Watering Can/Foliar Spray Dissolve 20g (4 measures of enclosed spoon) of Part 1 (Fertiliser - Blue Powder) to 5 litres of water. Then add 20g (4 measures of enclosed spoon) of Part 2 (Aluminium Sulphate - White Powder) into the same above 5 litres of solution and dissolve. Apply this 5 litres of solution over 5 square metres, or to the soil surrounding four full size Hydrangeas. Applications must commence soon after winter pruning. Repeat applications, every 2 weeks, until flowering is finished. Best results are achieved by applying every 2 weeks, all year round.
