Summer tends to be the most noteworthy season because of the terminal inflorescences of white flowers that bloom for weeks at a time. For winter interest, flower heads can be left on once they turn brown to add texture. Panicle hydrangeas often tolerate a myriad of growing conditions, including tolerances to urban sites, full sun, and better cold hardiness, but do prefer being kept cool (attainable with a layer of mulch).
