For home growing, we recommend Chaiyo Universal Substrate as a suitable potting base. Hydrangea enjoys consistent moisture, but the media should not stay soggy. If your growing area is more humid, low-airflow, or the media stays wet for too long, add Perlite 2–4mm or French Bark Nugget 8–15mm to improve drainage and airflow. Adjust watering based on sunlight, airflow, heat and humidity. Hydrangea prefers evenly moist media and should be placed away from harsh afternoon sun.
