Quercus (the genus name of Oaks) plus folia (as in foliage) are combined to make the species name of Hydrangea quercifolia - Oakleaf Hydrangea. This popular shrub does have oak-loo king leaves which are almost just as attractive and interesting as the amazing flowers that bloom in late Spring and early Summer.
